At GoClimbKili, your safety comes first. As a locally founded team of expert Tanzanian mountaineers, we combine deep mountain knowledge with international safety standards to deliver secure, well-supported, and successful Kilimanjaro climbs.

1. Our Safety Commitment

We operate every trek with a strict safety-first philosophy based on:

  • Gradual acclimatization and proper pacing
  • Certified, experienced mountain guides
  • Daily health monitoring
  • Reliable safety and medical equipment
  • Clear emergency and evacuation procedures

2. Professional Guides & Crew

All lead guides are licensed by Tanzanian authorities and trained in wilderness first aid. The guides have extensive high-altitude experience on Mount Kilimanjaro, and the full crew (guides, porters, cooks) follows ethical treatment and safety standards.

3. Acclimatization & Trek Design

We prioritize longer routes and well-balanced itineraries to reduce altitude risks. Climbers are encouraged to follow the “pole pole” (slowly, slowly) pace, and rest days or acclimatization hikes are built into most routes.

4. Health Monitoring

Daily health checks include symptom reviews and oxygen saturation readings. Guides closely monitor all climbers for signs of altitude sickness, and any serious symptoms result in immediate descent.

5. Altitude Sickness Protocol

Altitude sickness can affect anyone. Our response includes slowing the pace, providing supplemental oxygen, immediate descent if symptoms worsen, and coordinating emergency evacuation when required. Summit attempts are always secondary to client safety.

6. Emergency Equipment

Each climbing group carries first aid kits, portable oxygen cylinders, pulse oximeters, and communication devices.

7. Medical & Fitness Requirements

All climbers must be in good physical and mental health. Medical conditions, allergies, and medications must be disclosed before the trek. A medical check-up before travel is strongly recommended.

8. Weather & Route Adjustments

Kilimanjaro weather can change rapidly. Routes or schedules may be adjusted for safety, and clients must follow guide instructions at all times.

9. Emergency Evacuation

Immediate descent is arranged for serious illness or injury. Vehicle or helicopter evacuation is coordinated when available, and all climbers must carry insurance covering high-altitude trekking and evacuation.

10. Client Responsibilities

For everyone’s safety, climbers must follow all guide instructions, report symptoms immediately, use proper trekking gear, respect crew members and fellow climbers, and avoid alcohol or illegal substances on the mountain.

11. Park Regulations & Environmental Safety

All treks comply with Kilimanjaro National Park rules. Environmental protection and waste management policies are strictly followed.

12. Disclaimer

Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro involves inherent risks, including altitude sickness, injury, and extreme weather. By booking a trek, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
